SAN MATEO, CA, UNITED STATES, September 17, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- This October, some of the world's fastest wheel-driven vehicles will converge on the world's largest salt flat for the 2026 Bolivia Speed Trials, pursuing official FIM and FIA world records on a planned 19-mile course at nearly 12,000 feet elevation.— Mike Akatiff
At the center of the event is The Top 1 ACK Attack, the twin-engine turbocharged streamliner that has held the FIM absolute motorcycle land-speed world record since 2010.
Rider Rocky Robinson set that record at Bonneville at 376.363 mph. Sixteen years later, it still stands. Designer and team owner Mike Akatiff returns to Bolivia with Robinson and one objective: become the first motorcycle in history to officially exceed 400 mph.

More information: The Salar de Uyuni provides something almost impossible to find elsewhere: a straight 19-mile-long, 110-foot-wide course on hard salt. Its high altitude means thinner air and reduced aerodynamic drag, while its enormous size provides the acceleration and stopping distance required by 400- and 500-mph machines.
The event is underwritten by Mike Akatiff, Jamie Williams and Jim Knapp, with support from Top 1 Oil.
The Top 1 ACK Attack attempt will also form the climax of 400 MPH: The Last Run, a documentary series hosted by Tory Belleci of MythBusters, drawing on nearly 20 years of footage chronicling ACK Attack's journey from a California workshop to Bonneville's world record and the final pursuit of 400 mph in Bolivia.
